চিকিৎসা করাতে লন্ডনে যাওয়ার আগে বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের সঙ্গে দেখা করেছেন দলটির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর ও স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্যরা। এসময় তারা বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের স্বাস্থ্যের খোঁজ নেন। পরে মির্জা ফখরুল গণমাধ্যমকে জানান, কাল যুক্তরাজ্যের উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করবেন খালেদা জিয়া। দেশবাসীর কাছে দোয়া চেয়েছেন তিনি।
