We must have peace and cooperation if where ever to address the civilization threatening problems we find our world in today. India's intellectual traditions go back thousands of years. They must be renewed and refreshed to serve the needs of 1.4 billion in the world of 2024 and beyond. I am very happy for the idea of India-Middle East-Europe Corridors, but I am in line with most people who don't think that the corridors will never be built. The US has been debt ridden, Europe is in recession, the Middle East and India are not experienced in building infrastructure. These factors, compounded with geographical problems with Iran and Turkey, ensure that the Corridors will fail.
With the Suez Canal you only unload the ship once, but with this plan you have to unload twice to get goods from India to Europe, greatly increasing costs. Saudi Arabia is extremely hot and laying tracks through the desert is expensive, there are security issues with passing the Levant, as the region is not stable. Comparatively, the using the Suez makes more economic sense and has way less security issues.
If you look at the project, India do nothing while other countries do everything with infarstructure. US and Euros use their mouths just like India. Receipe to flop. This project will take 100 years to finish. Dream on India.

India must think about goods that Europeans actually want to buy and produce them. Otherwise, IMEC would be like a 5 lane highway with just 12 Indian cars on it. That port to port segment from India to west Asia has been around. what's new? The key is the part from middle east to Europe.
