This is the type of debilitated condition that previously fit astronauts will be experiencing if they reach Mars and its gravitational field. Without hospital support they may need extended convalescence before they could hope to be functional. But they would have 2 years to recover before the return trip of 6 or so months and 24 million miles puts them right back into a debilitated state. And death is a real possibility even if everything else works perfectly. Are you ready to volunteer?

According to foreign sources, the safety seat belt for said astronaut was faulty and un-tightened during the return voyage, and that poor person was bouncing up and down like an uncontrollable ball in the capsule, and the collision forces were at their highest during the touching down of the capsule !
