The US$ as an international currency is funding internal US economic profligacy that is bi partisan. There is a lot of muted international support to have alternatives in international currency. But the only deterrent for countries to take this up energetically is the realization that an alternative will help China more than it will hinder the US. Secondly, the international currency has to be of a large democratic and open society and open economy where the ruling cabal don't print furtive money as Chinese would do if hypothetically Yuan were the Dollar. Mr.Sibal has been a practitioner of diplomacy when our hands were tied behind our backs and our strategic heft was at a pathetic low. Things are changing though very slowly. What is needed is a national resolve to get our act together and build a solid economy and military efficiency. Power is the only attribute that is respected and reciprocated in the global theater. Our problems are the internal fissures and committed quislings among us who would sell themselves for a pittance..btw that is also our historical legacy. Still we have come a far distance.

Please don’t have this Cold War mentality. I have a question we say we are going to be the 3rd largest economy but don’t have a 5th generation aircraft. Our airforce has all old junk Russian fighters. We have no option but to go with F-35 need to use our diplomacy in trying to get America to sell us F-35. Trump is our best bet. War is at our doorstep with our neighbours already having 5th generation aircraft.
