We live in an age of protest. On campuses, in public squares, on streets and social media, protestors around the world are challenging the status quo. But while protest is often necessary, is it sufficient? Eric Liu outlines three strategies for peacefully turning awareness into action and protest into durable political power.

  1. hi, i know you may have not been expecting this but

Jesus loves you and he died for you so that you and I may have eternal life, the thing is that no matter how good we may think we are,we are all sinners that deserve an eternal punishment cause we sinned against an eternal God. But Jesus Christ came into this world as a man to take the punishment that you and I supposed to take. To receive God's gift of eternal life you have to believe in he who he says he is, not just a good man, a great teacher or a big prophet but the way the truth and the life and you must confess with your mouth that he is lord come to him the way you are and let him change you, I am not here to force any religion.

If you would like to receive him you can pray this prayer ( remember it is not a prayer that saves you but your faith in Jesus)

Jesus i accept you today as my lord and personal saviour

i believe you died and rose again, i choose to forsake the world to follow you

change my heart and make me who you want me to be

in Jesus name i pray amen

Thank a lot for reading and for your patience, have a wonderful day ☺ ☺

remember that this Is the First step but you should Always draw closer to God and depart from sin

  2. This video really encouraged me to start a protest against pride month i believe everyone should seek christ instead of liking your own gender that is why there was only 2 genders made

  3. I don't take peaceful protesters seriously, and neither do the government. I don't approve what the government officials are doing, but non-violent activists are paper tigers: their outrage over so many things done by government officials can inspire so many people, they have the impression that their voice can change the minds and conscience of corrupt government official by articulating the issues at hand, but in reality, they pose no real threat to these government officials.

  4. The "no more job-killing regulations" example vs "expand what you think is possible" step is extra funny today because today, tech companies are laying off thousands of people like it's the dot-com bust of the 00s all over again, not because they financially NEED to, but simply because "everyone else is doing it, and the shareholders like it". Turns out the job-killers were the corporations all along.
We in the USA also need to grow beyond our placation with how corporations affect policies and politics. "We'll never get the corporations to allow a livable minimum wage again, or universal health care, or universal basic income." Hey but what if we told corporations to shove it?

Finally, protesters don't force out an old despised government. The military LETS it happen. That's why the military is often in charge after the coup. And if the military has no economic interest in keeping the citizens happy and healthy, well, who cares what they think of you, right? What are they gonna do? Protest some more, this time AGAINST the interests of the military? We've seen it happen and it's not pretty.

  5. I think the most important part here is that first one, "what is possible" and who defines what is and isn't possible.. I believe that we're too easily and far too quickly giving away all of that power to people who we're all led to believe are quote on quote "Experts" on this and the reigning authority on this.

  6. The Peace Meditation Phrase

Old Lyran written as: Salome gam nan ben Urda – gan njber asala Hesporona!

pronounced as: Saalome gam naan ben uurda gan njjber asaala hesporoona!

Français : Que la paix soit sur la terre et parmi toutes les créatures !

En español: ¡Paz en la tierra y entre todas las criaturas!

English: Peace be on the Earth, and among all created creations!

Deutsch: Friede sei auf der Erde, und unter allen Geschöpfen!

Romanian: Pacea să fie pe pământ, și printre toate creaturile!

Croatian: Mir na zemlji i među svim stvorenjima!

Indonesian: Damai sejahtera di bumi, dan di antara semua makhluk!

Arabic: السلام على الارض وبين جميع المخلوقات!

Persian: سلامتی بر زمین و بر جمیع حیوانات باد!

  7. Hi I’m an Iranian and I was wondering if I could use this video and translate it to Farsi for my social media ? ofc with giving the credits to you

  8. I think it kinda ignores that the most successful protests also came with some threat of violence lol. Including all the examples given, the state is only forced to take note when the monopoly on violence is nullified.

  9. For protesting

Make sure if you get arrested to take it to trial. Only 7% of criminal cases go to trial. If everyone goes to trial, it screws the system of supression. That should prevent these people from getting too crazy with arrests. IMPORTANT-Do not waive your 90 Day Speedy Trial Rights.

Along with that, make sure to record everything and livestream when possible. If you don't want to be recorded, wear a mask.

Also there are green laser pointers that spread out are only 10 bucks free shipping when they use tear gas and rubber bullets like they did in Los Angeles and Arizona. Use Triple A batteries for lower cost. Use quality brand of batteries for stronger output, Duracell or Energizer for example.

These should be put into fliers all around gas stations. Make 10 copies.

Always check local laws to avoid breaking them.

Screen shot this, so we don't lose this.

We should also figure out something to do either at a protest at a certain time or online to flood the system. Haven't thought of it yet.

  10. I guess they don't understand the amount of guys watching these events at the Michigan crossing dose this judge understand that if he's not very careful there could be 25000 trucks stretching into Ohio blocking that artery how you going to remove that dipstick

  11. This might only work in countries like the US. But in countries decimated by the US and/or western imperialism in general, a protest or a vote can only do so much and are not the only solutions for change. To be able to get rid of the damage and exploitation of western imperialism in these countries, a revolution must be formed and armed struggle is necessary.

Change could only be achieved if power and control is given back and remains solely to the masses.

  12. I really want to start a protest to rework our outdated education systems so students can actually learn useful information instead of learning useless information like the Mitochondria of the cell.

  13. This video doesn't take into consideration reactionary nature of American/western neo colonialism e.g. with 'Arab Spring' backing Islamists such as the Good 'Al-Qaeda' Benghazi, Erdogan and even Isis forces in Syria.
Similar situation in Central & South America i.e. Nicuragua Venezuela Chilli et al.

Cannot have neo colonial and imperialism with social economic justice and democracy.

  14. At the beginning, it says "1 of 2." Is there a second video? I looked through the videos from four years ago when this was added, but didn't find a second one on this subject.
