  1. 8 years ago: "Here in LA bad weather is partly sunny."

Now: "Here in LA bad weather is a blizzard with 2 feet of snow or 20 inches of rain in half an hour".

Bill, think its time for a New Rule on climate change.

  2. You got 40 minutes to bring us the world..
Stories that don't matter.. is what they bring us..
I wonder what gender cares more about soldiers coming home to surprise their kids as a news story? 🤔🤔

  3. We in western NYS also don't want to hear about YOUR weather. Suck up the drought largely caused by too many people living in a desert, ration your water like adults, and don't even THINK of draining the Great Lakes to feed your addiction to green lawns in Death Valley (fortunately, Canada will bomb you before that happens).

  4. Once upon a time, long ago in the last millennium, there actually was ANALYSIS on network news. You know–deep digging into the CAUSES of "if-it-bleeds-it-leads" events, succinctly reported as objective factual statements in complex sentences rather than a series of cheap interviews about a splashy event asking people how they feel. WHO CARES how they feel?! EVERYONE feels upset at shootings, wars, climate events, plane crashes. What people need to know is WHY they happen, WHO is responsible, What PATTERNS they represent, HOW to address dealing with them. Ah, but that takes time, seasoned reporters situated in locations and educated in subjects like other cultures and science, and, you know, people who have actually read legal documents. Not flashy, fun, or feel-good. But necessary to educate and motivate and unite people in a democracy. But all of that was long, long ago.

  5. Is a lying brat worth the western world's democracy? People died for it and the young generations need it just like you needed. It was handed to you on silver, now pay it forward to the young generations.

  6. right on point Bill, we have the worst media news outlets in the history of journalism, they are so biased it's disgusting and now border on straight propaganda, and it is a lot like Germany in the 1930's when Hitler was beginning his rein of power, they are the enemy to all of us by not reporting facts and fair and balanced reporting

  7. I say we evoke a three day rule on responding to the news regardless of what network you watch. I was so proud of the victims that were so gracious to actually let the President visit with them that I posted on how proud I was of them for being decent to a person who didn't deserve their decency and NOW I find out they didn't! (which is still ok) The one ones still laying there shot up and in pain, rerunning the the horrors of their experience every second of the day were victimized again by those trying to get the story out FIRST and the President toting his "rock star" welcome. Yesterday I was shouting to the rafters how I WOULD never have allowed him in my freaking room! Then I thought how much better human beings they were than me because they allowed him to visit. Now I find that is all B.S! The Victims that had been released came back to met with him (if even this is true), but not the people still in the hospital recovering from their physical wounds.(who could blame them) Now I am still proud of them for NOT allowing him to stand on their suffering for political gain, just as I would have, but now I am outraged at the Media for getting it wrong, AGAIN, and still outraged at the president (deliberately in lower caps). SMH How about something novel for a change. The TRUTH and FACTS. Get it right the FIRST time. I am ashamed of myself.

  8. Obviously the usual mix of dumb comments in response to this segment. Bill’s long-standing critique of the news is that it’s not serious enough + overly focused on infotainment/pandering/ratings/profits vs informing the American public about important issues.

The fact that the media reports mostly accurate, damaging stories about Trump & his sidekicks that they don’t like and call Fake News is not the problem. They’re still doing too many human interest stories + not enough on global issues is BM’s point.

Fact that the Prez and his Cabinet are totally incompetent/ignorant is very relevant and important for public to know. But overloading the news cycle every time a snowstorm comes around is not.

    Hope that clarifies.
