Speculations are rife that India captain Rohit Sharma could face an axe from India’s playing XI for the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 3. First India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir’s evasive response when questioned about Rohit’s spot in India’s playing XI.
On being quizzed about Rohit’s prospects for final Test, Gambhir remained tightlipped on the final decision and said that it would be decided after assessing the Sydney wicket. Notably, Rohit was absent from the pre-match press conference, with Gambhir saying that his own presence was sufficient.
“We are going to have a look at the wicket and announce the playing XI tomorrow,” Gambhir said during the pre-match press conference.

1. We been telling since 2 yrs that Gill should not be in the team for SENA tours. His mantra is to score well in asian countries and retain his place for SENA tours to fail there. Look at his batting average in last 50 tests (i,e 100 innings) is 34+. Same as KL Rahul. No indian players was given so many chances like these two being given. Sehwag, Shreyas, Laxman were dropped for failures in 8 innings, KL Rahul and Jadeja are both another Ajinkya Rahanes who will play one innings well to retail place to fail another 8 inning. So, cricket india should avoid fascinations for these three players Gill, KL Rhaul, Jadeja.
2. We also been telling since 2 yrs that Rishab Pant was never or will never be a specialist no .5 talent batsman. He is came knocker once in a while just like any other wicket keeper batsman except Gilcrisht. He should be demoted to no.6 or no. 7 permanently depending on conditions of match. No.5 should be Nitesh as he proved he ha or Sarfaraz
3. Rohit and Virat needs to be dropped for team first sake and fairness to players in past who were dropped for failures in 8 innings and fairness to bench. And most importantly to retain the BGT
