Most Gen Z developers (when they actually work) don't know what a server is, why or how it works. They just "deploy stuff to somewhere" and "magic happens".
Hate cloud.
what a good video, subscribed
Cloud is the future
Hybrid is honestly the best option for every organization coming from me who's easing more into cloud engineering roles.
Sometimes reliability is more important than costs but honestly not everything needs insane uptimes, you can cut some corners and keep your on-prem.
4:40 this makes A LOT of sense for indie hackers
at the very least you learn how everything works
This is why Docker is great. We build all of our products with Docker so that when weβre large enough and can consider jumping ship from cloud, we donβt have to completely alter our main workflows.
AWS is junk and will get your card and milk you dry.
Cloud is just someone else's computer.
I use VPS and it never made me any sense to get cloud.
These images are f**** hilarious
First time I am seeing a lousy and misinformed video from Fireship. Cloud is the best thing that happened to IT. I am in IT for 18 years and know what I am talking about
Go hybrid and also use Morpheus
I'm not a startup, I only have small personal projects. But I very much enjoy spinning these up on my local bare metal server that I have running Ubuntu Server on. It's literally just an old gaming PC with no graphics card, a 20TB HDD, and a 1TB SSD. The databases and long term storage are on the HDD. I manage everything in Docker, and I have GitHub Actions setup to deploy code to my server via SSH and docker compose.
Clouds are way overpriced and horror stories like you set up something wrong and got $100k bill per month, is a big turnoff.
I'm a senior engineer, so I will tolerate senior level of painπ
Anyone else never use cloud services? I make sure to always turn it off and fully disable or remove it from device if possible.
i am the onpremise nemesis
I don't want to fall like the last guy, I've decided to embrace cloud, give me my dose of GCP please!
you talk too much
think you are missing something.. yes their business is profitable in every way.. they dont pay tax and they charge tax. Its illegal.. they dont pay import duty and they charge import duty.. its all a giant scam. they work in literal tax havens. to make it happen. their profits are your taxes.
My god. I love this channel!!!
me watching this February 12th 2025
you and vercel had some beef in past lives lol
i don't understand the appeal of paying a premium to use a terrible UI to have less control and more problems
i'm not loll, i never used it
companies are addicted to not hiring people. Not long ago i was a consultant and worked with vmware specialists, load balancer specialists, applications server specialists, database administrators, unix administrators, windows administrators, a configuration management area, you name it. Many of them with sizeable salaries. Last work i got in a corporation they had only generic 'cloud engineers'
my personal photos went into the cloud without my permission. after signing up with google. and now they wont release my photo unless i pay.
And now we get charged for setting cost limits.
not my problem
Cloud is a cloud βοΈ. When it's sunny βοΈ and clear sky there aren't any clouds. Then there could be little clouds βοΈor β big clouds π«οΈ. They fade away.. Or they accumulate and they could restore electrocity β‘, humidity and then it could start to rain π§οΈ and sometimes those clouds are filled with low/high pressure that it developes storms πͺοΈand thunder and lightning π©οΈ. There could be really cold, minus degrees and it's snowing βοΈ and there is ice. Of course there could be some meteor rain βοΈor some space junk could fly to the Earth's atmosphere breaking clouds etc. Then clouds separate and floating away or just fade away.
Cloud services are similar, what ever you put in clouds they vanish. Then they say with a beautiful smile: "I am sorry.. There is nothing we can do… but we have some other services it'll cost… " trying to sell you some other nonsence thing and you buy it and still all your documents, photos and files etc are gone.. So why you are trusting cloud since the name tells it all.. = "puff".
because it solve dev problems
Companies investing alot and are running behind AI technology more to automate the tasks to complete more tasks and attract more customers but not realising the end users of every domain are customers(human beings) who actually use their service to help them generate revenue.
IT industry is becoming more toxic and stress poking their employees to learn new skills, upgrade, upgrade and upgrade. NO PERSONAL TIME AT ALL.
EVEN THOUGH U HAVE PERSONAL TIME, U WILL HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT UPGRADING SKILLS ELSE LOSE UR JOB.
WHILE EVERY THING CAN STILL BE HANDLED MANUALLY ENCOURAGING MORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES.
