In 2025, the global space community is set to embark on a series of groundbreaking missions that promise to expand our understanding of the cosmos and advance space exploration technologies. China’s Tianwen-2 mission aims to collect samples from the near-Earth asteroid Kamoʻoalewa, believed to be a fragment of the Moon, and subsequently journey to the main-belt comet 311P/PANSTARRS. NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) will continue with missions from companies like Astrobotic, Intuitive Machines, and Firefly Aerospace, focusing on lunar geology and technologies essential for future human habitation on the Moon. Private enterprise is also making significant strides; Vast plans to launch Haven-1, the first commercial crewed space station, offering 30-day orbital stays for astronauts and civilians. The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing for an orbital test flight of its uncrewed Space Rider spaceplane, designed to conduct scientific experiments in low Earth orbit. SpaceX is set to demonstrate in-orbit refueling of its Starship spacecraft, a critical capability for future missions to Mars. India’s Gaganyaan program is poised to send its first crewed mission to space, marking a significant milestone with the inclusion of an Indian astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Additionally, the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission, a collaborative effort between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is scheduled to launch, aiming to provide detailed Earth observation data. These missions underscore a year of unprecedented collaboration and innovation in space exploration. My gadgets in this video
