  1. As a lifelong Arsenal fan, one thing Iโ€™d like to point out the naivety and hypocrisy of the ignorant and mob. I remember when we went to City with Mikel being handed a 5-0 lesson and Mikel setup with a 5-2-3 or something like that. I remember Xhaka was the lone pivot and was the CDM – ironically that day Xhaka was shown a red for a reckless and dangerous tackle on Rodri or Gundu. We had Kolsinac, Calum Chambers, Holding, und a few other players who clearly werenโ€™t in our plans and were as the media called them โ€œdeadweightโ€. I mean we had injuries and couldnโ€™t play our new recruits I think Ben White and Odegaard. Regardless the media tore into ARTETA for being โ€œnaiveโ€, โ€œarrogantโ€, โ€œincompetentโ€, and so forth, for simply utilising the players at his disposal. I mean we went out there trying to win. I mean ARTETA in this game had to make a tactical shift and complete new game plan with literal minutes during that halftime break. It was sensational. Yes I wanted a win and felt like we bloody earned one but regardless ARTETA (this isnโ€™t some excuse or justification rant loading)with injuries and the unavailabilities managed to tinker, revolutionise, and reimagine the team, the tactics, and the application. I mean I doubt weโ€™re close to seeing the Arsenal he is evolving and innovating. I mean just all my praise to Mikel. His prowess and acumen have my amazement and respect๐Ÿฅน

  2. Arsenal simply shut down their own positive football against city by turning the EPL into WWE. They certainly don't deserve the title with such a cowardice approach. Lower division tactics ๐Ÿšฎ

  3. Would it be dumb for Pep just to switch when playing vs 10 like to have bernardo silva at the back 3 together with dias and walker, and then akanjy goes on top with haaland

  4. Arsenal park the bus and time waste – tactical master class

Newcastle ( or any non big 6 team) park the bus and time waste- disgraceful

And they say big 6 bias isn't real.

  5. I've seen nothing but people raving about what Arteta did, but everyone forgot that City had Arsenal back peddling until Rodri got injured. Arsenal had no answer for City until that point. Then decide to park the bus for the entirety of the 2nd half

  6. Those who are criticising for "parking the bus" are too naive to be believed. What do you expect to play with 10 men? Open up and let City win? City are now fuming because even against 10men they can't beat Arsenal at their home ground.
    Context is important.

  7. Poor analysis. Arsenal conceded the first goal defending in a 4-1-4-1 set up which meant that in the event that the winger beat his fullback he would be left with only Partey to beat before heโ€™s attacking the back line. Partey is easier to bypass than Declan rice hence it was so easy for Savio to find Erling running into the space, the gap was created by Partey following silva instead of condescending the middle and forcing savinho to pass it wide instead of passing it through the central corridor to find Haaland running into the space. City played through them and the best defence in the league relatively easy, making them the first team to score against Arsenal 11v11 through open play this season. Mikels robust defensive structure was undone by city, weโ€™ll do it again at the emirates!

  8. To those that say that arsenal only parked the bus : Arsenal scored two goals and was ahead during 90% of the game. All first half Arsenal was doing high pressure.

  9. I may be wrong but, why didn't City try and slot one of their playmaking Midfielders on that back 3 line and move a CB into the midfield line or invert the other FB. Sure, counter attack is dangerous, but they'd likely recover back before Arsenal can pose a real threat. This way you have a player on the ball, who can likely pick out better passes and also play the crosses into the box.
