The one and only time I’ve visited California was in May 1977. I drove from St Paul MN and stayed at the Best Western in Sacramento, the Motel 6 in Monterey and continued down the Pacific Coast Highway to San Diego where I took I-8 to Yuma AZ. California was beautiful back then but too crowded these days. Also I’ve wondered why anyone would live in a fire-prone area when there’s many other beautiful neighborhoods with virtually no fire risk. I’ve been trying to find the best way to help those who've lost their homes, especially the ones who can’t afford another place to live.
