Gaza Ceasefire: Trump and Biden Battle for Credit
Leaders around the world hailed the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal announced on January 15. Israeli President Israel Herzog hailed the ceasefire as “the right move” while US President Joe Biden hoped for a “permanent end of the war” following the deal. Meanwhile, incoming US President Donald Trump claimed full credit for the “epic” ceasefire deal. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the truce a “long overdue”. Indian Ministry Of External Affairs welcomed the ceasefire deal and underlined the need for “sustained supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.”
