Nvidia is significantly enhancing its commitment to artificial intelligence (AI) in India, announcing strategic partnerships with local IT firms during the Nvidia AI Summit in Mumbai. CEO Jensen Huang emphasised the country’s robust digital connectivity, stating that India will experience a nearly 20-fold increase in computing capacity by the end of the year. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, stressed the importance of Nvidia’s infrastructure, drawing parallels to Jio’s impact on the telecom sector. The partnership aims to develop AI supercomputers and create AI applications for Reliance’s 450 million Jio customers. Nvidia’s advanced computing system, the Grace Hopper Superchip, will power this initiative, enabling faster deployment of AI solutions across various sectors, including healthcare and climate research. Huang expressed confidence that India will not only produce global CEOs but also export AI services, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a leading player in the global AI landscape.
