5th gen fighter jets from US comes with a kill switch. As long as you are obedient, there is no problem. The moment you try to be independent, they will flick the kill switch n render the jets useless.

India skipped industry and directly developed the service industry, resulting in a lack of a strong manufacturing base. Most industrial products cannot be produced today.
India skipped the basic first-generation and second-generation fighters and directly developed the fourth-generation fighter jets. Radars, engines, flight controls and even the appearance of the aircraft are all dependent on foreign countries and cannot be independent at all.
India's democracy skipped critically important land reforms and a handful of landowners occupied most of the country's land. However, there is no corresponding taxation and land use system, which prevents India from vigorously developing high-speed railways and various infrastructure construction.
India still has too many illiterates, resulting in low labor standards, women are imprisoned in houses, and all jobs require a large number of high-quality labor.

There are too many unfinished projects in India. But it is always like a child who has not graduated from elementary school trying to skip elementary school and middle school and go directly to college. India cannot rely on its Prime Minister praying in temples every day to suddenly skyrocket.

India should wake up and refer to the development trajectories of South Korea, Japan, and China in the East.

In today's era, an aircraft cannot be completely indegenized and there is no concept of 100% technology transfer.

Although we may have an indegenous program, the parts need to be sourced elsewhere as part of the supply chain because of the program being multidisciplinary and looking into niche engineering areas. A single country cannot have an ecosystem to manufacture all the components of an aircraft.

Therefore joining the GCAP program will give India an exposure to aircraft technologies, some degree of Technology transfer, make India part of the supply chain with manufacturing expertise in many such related technologies and also enable India to overcome the generational gap with military aircrafts.

Already UK (BAE Systems, Rolls Royce), Italy (Leonardo) and Japan (Mitsubishi) and a whole consortium of private companies are part of this 6th Gen Tempest program. This is a great opportunity for India also.

(There were also some rumours of this program being called off.)

Disclaimer: China's 5th and 6th gen aircrafts are not really what they are claimed to be. It's a sham.

I am also sceptical about Russia's ability towards 5th and 6th gen aircrafts. 5th gen is not just about stealth, there is much more. Even the stealth aspects may not have been addressed appropriately.

Currently to address the shortage of aircrafts and imbalance of power in the region, India must acquire some F-35 aircrafts (for quality) along with other aircrafts (for quantity); both lion and wolf strategies.

Today's diplomacy is not based of trust and favours. It's based on strength. If India has got something to put on the table, then she also got the leverage to demand something from the table.

India still hasn't signed deal for F414 engine so forget about Tejas MK2

India seems illiterate in decision making. With limited research exposure people dont have exposure to scientific research or the scientific method in their daily lives, which can lead to a lack of understanding.

No fighter jets were going to be procured, only talks and committees no action… Officials and govt are sleeping and thinking about their commissions thats it.
