To store the increasing amount of clean energy coming from renewables, we need batteries. Without them, there’s a risk of stalling the transition away from fossil fuels. Stationary thermal batteries or heat batteries are growing in popularity for industrial processes and district heating. In this episode of Transforming Business, we look at some simple, natural, and cost-effective materials, squirreling away energy as heat to be used when needed.

Graphite is much better
Sand, used batteries, CO2, and air based storage systems can really help in reducing the cost of energy storage
It's sound tech when peard with other forms of green energy. Keep rocking forward. 🌎
If it can store energy for months then this is the holy grail for green energy.
If works with desert sand … it is ideal for desert countries… sun during the day and store in sand for the night
What about sand from the desert
Stop using ai voices, yall should be better than spam youtubers
Electrical resistors to heat up the sand?😳 Doesn't sound very "green" to me🙄
Brilliant twist on energy. Sounds really promising.
This sounds promising unless the sand's ability to store energy wears out somehow and has to be replaced, exacerbating sand shortages. I wonder what is different about sand that's not suitable for construction. Sand is the result of wearing down, so it's likely it's energy storage ability exacts a price and that lifespan is probably limited also.
