New Carrolton Maryland theater was set on fire back then. Someone stripped the nuts on the fire hydrants which delayed fighting the fire, because pump trunks had to respond. Criminals also put thick, heavy chains with large locks on all fire exit doors. I believe 8 people died near one fire exit….the people with me, at the other fire exit, made it….
