Los Angeles is bracing for even more destruction as wildfires continue to rage across the city. The fires, which began a week ago, have already destroyed more than 12,000 structures and killed at least 24 people. With strong winds expected in the coming days, officials fear the situation could deteriorate further. The two largest wildfires in Los Angeles are still burning. The first fire, in Palisades, has scorched over 23,700 acres and only 14 percent of this fire has been contained. The second fire, in Eaton, has burned more than 14,000 acres and it is 33 percent contained. Experts are predicting strong winds in Los Angeles, with speeds exceeding 100 kilometres per hour.
