How do we make sense of today’s political divisions? In a wide-ranging conversation full of insight, historian Yuval Harari places our current turmoil in a broader context, against the ongoing disruption of our technology, climate, media — even our notion of what humanity is for. This is the first of a series of TED Dialogues, seeking a thoughtful response to escalating political divisiveness. Make time (just over an hour) for this fascinating discussion between Harari and TED curator Chris Anderson.

The truth has been curated through manipulation and lies since the 1900s by the oligarch kleptocrats. Harari knows this because he has helped control the narrative. Harari cites the Bible as a source of lies yet there is evidentiary proof stories from ancient antiquity are true. Why continue to lie? Global governance doesn't allow you to maintain your culture either, like he says. It forces you to adopt DEI, ESG, and SDG global goals or you will be re-educated to properly participate and you won't be allowed to participate in society. This is why their global system of governance relies on smart cities that involve small pods of people, and why they use social justice governance tools to control behavior and participation in a society that won't ever be free. Harari also says he can remedy negative individual feelings by connecting people through virtual means. Complete disconnect from what humans want and need.
The science is bought and paid for by the kleptocrat oligarchs, to exploit the naturally changing climate to control human beings behavior; while at the same time, the same kleptocrat globalists pollute the planet who control the supply chains and production. The kleptocrat globalists require we overlook their pollution, damage to humans, pillaging of resources of the communities they colonize, and the refugees they displace through their imperial colonization; while trying to blame consumers for climate change and the reason for displacement of humans. It's not climate change, it's global regime change imperial colonization and pillaging of a country's resources that is the issue that displaces human beings. And the kleptocrats want to tax your carbon footprint to prevent you from consuming so they can control your behavior, prevent nationalism, prevent individual sovereignty, prevent consumption, control people, and prevent people from standing up against their global governance model of authoritarian communism. It's also to stop you from standing up against forcing the creation of refugees and blaming it on climate change when they create these refugees from regime change conflict, imperial colonization, and pillaging the country's resources. Harari knows all of this and the only reason the globalists got away with their plan thus far is through soft power Color Revolution tactics, subversion, corruption, and lies. ๐ฏ
I disagree with globalism. This man is a transhumanist wanting global solutions to global problems people like him create. You are the reason these global problems exist. We don't have to promote AI to take jobs away from humans or promote transhumanism whatsoever.
Itโs crazy watching this in 2025
At 82', as a retired carpenter/building inspector; I have learned construction has supported/sustained humanities' civilizations, here on earth for-forever…
…Nationalism and globalism are only and always will be-not-money-but-the fundamental evolutionary economic sense for our survival here now…
I found out this video 8years later. But itโs still effective and resonates with me. Far right Politics are dominated over the world. Especially Russia and Israel took an War to extend their benefit and land. Many people suffered for that. AI is prevalent now and more rapidly changing the world.
If you are gl*balist , you are g*y . Just like hararin๐ .
Talking about globalisation of world government is so easy for Israeli while theyโre destroying nation of Palestine ๐

Not buying any of this

globalization will not solve the worlds problems. developing nations need to take up nationalistic approaches instead of pushing for a better world order. I am saying this because humans are selfish and will always protect their needs when push comes to shove. When it matters most US, Russian, and Chinese reps at the UN will always defend their national interests instead off global interests. Globalization is just a farce for a few people to control the world
I have no
problem
with global regulations of AI but let me country rule its own laws for its own citizens. Who asked humanity if we wanted AI and "smart" surveillance tools enter our homes and every aspect of society in the name of " advancement, technology , convenience and evolution ?". Planet Earth was better without AI takeover and prison planet . Kids were not committing suicide and being depressed and anxious like "modern advanced " days !!!!
Where does he gets his statistics ? I'd like him to present facts based on statistics not presumptions or his own interpretation based on his observation and understandings.
Globalists did not invent globalism. During middle ages Catholic church was a global political power, which overshadowed national interests of European countries. Now modern religion – Marxism – is trying to reinstate medieval global political power for their church.
We need global government but we don't know how it will look ๐๐. We already have the EU that doesn't, care about what happen local and they only care about printing money and gaining more and more control. And UBI will only give more control to the government.
A New Dark Age is upon us. We, the people, must unite in our fury against these "feudalists". All for one and one for all!
Weโre all human, arenโt we? We laugh, we cry, we dream, we fear. Underneath the skin, the language, the customs, we experience the same messy, beautiful tapestry of life. So why draw lines in the sand? Why "us" and "them"?
Nationalism, at its heart, is about belonging. Itโs the comfort of shared history, traditions, and identity. But sometimes that comfort turns into a fortress, walls built against the "other." And those walls cost usโnot just in the staggering expenses of armies and conflict, but in the lost opportunities for connection, understanding, and shared progress.
Look around. Love is crossing borders, blending cultures. Interracial, international marriages aren't just headlines; they're families, building bridges across divides. These families, these individuals, are living proof that our shared humanity is bigger than any flag.
Imagine a world where that shared humanity took center stage. A world where resources poured into weapons were instead invested in education, healthcare, and clean energy for everyone. A world where collaboration, not competition, fueled our biggest challenges, from climate change to poverty. It's not a utopian dream; it's a practical necessity.
Our differences enrich us, but our similarities unite us. The future doesn't have to be a battlefield; it can be a family table, with everyone welcome. It's time to choose.
Those elites… Will be jews
'America first' is like Emma Goldman's quote:
"To be a patriot, one had to say, and keep on saying, 'My country, right or wrong,' and to make a scandalous exception to that ordinary rule of morality."
Another one said about patriotism: Why stop at the borders ?
People always confuse patriotism with altruism or reciprocal altruism, when we do things for our community, village, city or country for the benefit of all. It's the benefit that enhance the cooperation, patriotism is the wrong fiction to use.
So many grate minds talked about patriotism and nationalism, don't need to say what it is. If you cannot get out of your stupid 'cultural identity box', which is the root of patriotism, nationalism, diversion and separation, our planet will remain stupid. Just saying…
btw, I almost totally agree with this guy and I like the way he thinks. To bad youtube algorithms keep his videos unpopular.
That's a sad story he told, in the beginning of this session.
We are going to go back several times to the past, until we get it correct, gather up the best ideas for the good, and do it for the majority.
Even if that includes using AI to positively assist, instead of it destroying us, bringing us cohesively together in sync with our Worlds, hopefully it will be positively guided by good leaderships.
Humans should lose some leaderships to algorithms, where we have consistently gotten it incorrect.
Universal needs, essentials, etc. can be based upon percentages of each World economy…Think about it, to be more correctโฃ๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐
Globalism is hidden nationalism.
this globalism comes with trying to silence people if they question the gender questions. People want the right to have a opinion.
There are many topics in this video. One is about intelligence versus sentience or consciousness. Harari says there's no 'use' to humans in this world.
Of course that depens on your views. Religious and spiritual people will disagree and say we have a task to spread love in this world, or to grow spiritually or something like that. And if you don't believe in anything like that, you might indeed say we have no use in the world, but still then we have a use within humanity.
We all have our own aims and goals in our life. Some want to invent something important, others want to help other people who suffer from illness, yet others just want to take care of their children and families.
In all of history humans have tried to invent things that make life easier and take tasks away from us. And now with AI there might not be a need anymore to work hard. But that doesn't mean we don't have any meaning in life, for ourselves or for other people. Yes AI can make paintings and songs but art is also about human thoughts behind the product. Malevitch's white on white was not so much impressive by the looks of it but it was the thought that was provoking and challenging. And that is something an AI can never accomplish in the same manner.
It's not just art but everything that sets us apart from machines, like our emotions in combination with intelligence. That combination, unique in every individual, makes us special and gives meaning to our lives. It seems awfully shallow to only see our value in an economic or political way.
