The discovery of what Alberta RCMP believe was a “chop shop” in Athabasca County being used to prepare stolen vehicles for resale was surprising because of “the sheer scale of this investigation,” a police official told reporters on Thursday.

Staff Sgt. Mark Hall showed reporters some of the stolen goods in north-central Alberta, including two semi-trucks, six semi-trailers, off-road vehicles, holiday trailers and pieces of heavy equipment.

Jasmine King reports.

  1. Oh yes the RCMP can’t do there job without help. Such a weak force as proven in their inabilities in pressing any charges against the biggest thief in Canadian History. Trudeau has single handedly bilked millions of dollars from the Canadian Tax Payers and the RCMP do not have the ability to present a criminal case against this communist thieving Crime Minister.

  2. Why is no one asking why this sort of thing as well as many other issues including rampant drugs happening in these small rural communities with it’s own RCMP detachments. Why do we have RCMP with priorities of traffic and by law enforcement over crime. Rural areas throughout the country are on their own while big city crime moves into small towns and communities because they know we have no policing enforcement. It’s a joke.

  3. I wouldn’t doubt they were blaming First Nations for all this stolen stuff but it was your own ppl stealing from you but hey keep pointing fingers at natives. . .

  4. Eye opening to see in our community😂 leave the detachment and ya might find some crime. My neighbor is a Mountie and he spends 10 of the 11 hour shift in his living room😂

  5. Better idea is to go retrieve your stuff at 4:00 am and also do whatever you like to make yourself feel better about the unfortunate situation. Then leave an anonymous tip about the site after.

  6. I swear, almost every time there is a suspicious vehicle or theft in the BC interior, its reported that the suspects had Alberta plates. Its always the same stuff too. Big trucks, heavy equipment, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, trailers, ATVs. Its like Alberta makes these dirtball rednecks that go broke on the oil rigs from drugs and alcohol and so they go to BC after their binge ends and raid the province.

  7. Millions of dollars worth of equipment…. Charge the suspect with theft over 5,000…. Can we not come up with a charge of theft over 500,000..
