  1. When you got that chat message about teams poaching playoff team coordinators and whether or not that's right, it's up to the coach. Mike MacDonald didn't interview with teams until the Ravens were eliminated last year. I believe that argument is no different than when I started complaining that College Bowl games for football stop mattering because of players being allowed to opt out because of going into the transfer portal and the reason for that is how early the deadline for entering the transfer portal is. I was starting to talk about how that should be moved back to ensure players play in their bowl games but… the NCAA can't do that. These guys are students who need to attend classes in January, they can't be committing to a new school after the next semester has already started.

I know this was a long subject to bring up something that doesn't translate 1:1 to football, but in the same way that students that enter the transfer portal have already started going to classes in their new school, teams are looking at their free agents and need an idea of what their coaching staff is going to want before free agency begins. Teams want a direction for their team, whether it be just one side of the ball or both before February begins, as they have to look at Free Agency and the draft class, plus start looking at their players so they can figure out if their offensive or defensive schemes work with the players they have, and who they need to make that scheme doable in the NFL. They cannot wait for the reasons you mentioned, and the fact that they have so many gaps to fill and need time to figure out how to fill them.

  2. I have a feeling Jamison Williams will not be part of the Lions future. He makes bonehead mistakes on and off the field. He's a lose cannon just like Desean Jackson and Antonio Brown.

  3. It was always crazy that a team with a defense that was horrifically banged up AND ran a scheme designed to be picked apart by running QBs was a 2-score favorite. That being said, if the Lions had only committed 3 turnovers instead of FIVE, they probably could have won by 2 scores. Two end zone INTs, a fumble in the red zone, and a pick six. That's a 28 point swing right there, not including the TD Washington scored off the other INT.

  4. Jared Goff is a good quarterback who had a bad game. Quarterbacks have bad games sometimes. Goff had a good season. The Lions won 15 games largely because of Goff. Has everyone forgotten how bad the Lions were before Goff? Does anyone remember how many quarterbacks the Lions went through before Goff? Goff is a good quarterback and they're hard to find.

  5. It’s not even β€œif you mess up once” it’s β€œwhen we get our handout”. The timely calls the Chiefs constantly get make it near impossible to have a fair chance which is the most frustrating thing watching as a neutral fan whose team isn’t associated with either franchise

  6. Mayor of Kingstown said doesn't matter who they draft or who's their coach or quarterback. They're Lions they're going to lose that aged well. Can't remember exact episode but there was a part when they said it.

  7. Momentum matters. To downplay how bad the refs are really is disheartening. Refball is a serious thing that needs to be changed, but its not going to. Obviously the game isn't a play or on a script like some schizos say, but it doesn't take an entire script. Theres a penalty when its needed to keep the chiefs going and to try and stuff any positivite momentum for the Texans.

I don't think it will be bad during the superbowl because the NFL just wants its headline and won't want to risk making the biggest game look as fixed as this one. But it still sucks. I quit watching football for a decade and came back this year, and I think i'm done again. The fact that so many people see this shit and say its fine is just gross to me. You deserve what you tolerate and the leadership of the NFL has to change for me to care again because I want to watch a real/fair game.

    Best of luck

  8. Say the commanders get really lucky and they go up against the Chiefs because we all know that the NFL is going to do everything they can to make sure the Chiefs get to the super bowl for the chance of the three peat. They lose Kansas City defense and the right calls and non-calls will make sure that the Kansas City Chiefs are the three time three straight super bowl champs. Given what he had last night I don't know if we would have beat them if we would have beat the commanders either. The best shot to dethrone the reigning tyranny that is the Kansas City Chiefs is the winner of the second AFC divisional round or the eagles at this point that's it

  9. A little fact:

The Lions are only the 2nd 15 wins team not to win a play-off game. The other one were ΓΎhe 2011 Packers, who ironically lost to… another NFC East team, the 9-7 Giants that year.

  10. The chiefs are disciplined and don't get stupid penalties. They aren't getting called for roughing the passer because they go for the head. Instead they just wrap the qb up and pull him to the ground or pushed the qb to the ground. They aren't hitting people out of bounds. They aren't going after refs because they don't get the calls they want even if its a missed hold that results in the opposition getting a td. They just move the fuck on and find ways to win. And that's favoritism according to the chief haters.

  11. Texans fan here; Fairbairn had a bad game, love the guy, but it is what it is. Another big issue was o-line play. We had guys who straight up didn’t know who to block and ended up blocking no one, it was hard to watch.Off the top of my head CJ only had like one or two plays where it was kinda on him for either not throwing the ball or staying in the pocket too long, otherwise not bad play from him. He learned how to move his feet when needed which was really nice to watch. Defense was on fire but the fact that we never guarded Kelce was a hindrance. The Refs were kinda dumb, but I didn’t get pissed off until the unnecessary roughness call where the Texans literally hit each other and barely touched Mahomes yet it was still called. It’s really frustrating and if the refs keep making calls like that for the Chiefs then I might just drop football all together cuz it’s just too much to handle.

  12. I'm 50 years old an a Lions fan by birth. Us losing this game this game did not surprise me one bit. I was worried about this game because I didn't think our D would be able to stop Daniels due to the myriad of injuries suffered to that side of the ball throughout the season (not too mention the 3 during the game). What I didn't expect was for Goff to have the turnovers he did. That is what cost us the game. I'm not happy about it, but Montana had a 15-1 season once then shit the bed himself in the playoffs. I feel it was the national media pushing the narrative the the Lions were going to destroy the Commanders. I never thought that at all

  13. Teams easily can wait 1 month before interviewing their coaching candidates. Still gives them almost 2 months before the draft. Teams that are in the playoffs are waiting so can the teams that missed the playoffs.

  14. You, along with everyone in the media, along with every football YouTube channel, I think you guys are SCARED to call out the NFL, rightfully so I’m sure you call them out you will probably get cancelled but, you lost my respect man, you need to call it as it is, the ref calls were egregious!!! It’s painful to watch, it’s back breaking for the other team. I have no horse in this race as a Bucs fan to be clear but, you guys need to stop being soft and call the refs out the way it is man! It’s sad, stand up for yourself man.

  15. As much as the impressive win WSH has over DET is, the fact that kicking Dan Snyder out as owner of WSH was the the true watershed moment. Kill the cancer and the body recovers. I just didn't realize the complete 180 from being a laughingstock franchise to arguably the quickest turnaround in NFL history. Literally turned the entire franchise in a year. Unreal! Also still loving your work, Garrett. You probably are still proud as a Marylander that the Commies are getting out of the woods. And even though I'm a Bengals fan, I live in Virginia so obvious there is so much love still for WSH. So I feel good seeing all those long suffered WSH fans enjoy this. They had 25 years of Snyder as Owner, and now they have Josh and Magic as owners. Now if the Bengals finally do what the Commanders did…πŸ˜…
