Imagine a self-drive heading into the river following incorrect GPS and refusing to let you out 'for your own safety' and bcos you have not reached your destination (another 1 mile in the water) yet!

"driverless" is only an academic term. The drive6is at "tech support".
Those cars are a menace
It sounds she’s dealing with “directional anxiety.” Yeah, I just made that up.
At least it didn’t drive her into the ghetto.
Speaking of driving, Never steer from Inside the steering wheel. As you did as driving to the museum. That's the Number 1 sign the driver, 99% of the time a woman, is going to get in a Wreak . Always immediately tell them to Stop The Car. Don't pull over, just get the car stopped for a few seconds. Look for cars. If it's safe, get Out of the car super fast. Get to the side of the road/street, and get behind a tree.
It's the Proven International Identification of a doomed driver.
I'm sure once the AI is all in place it will be able to take instructions from people, you know seeing AI is going to be way smarter in like 2 years than our smartest people 🤔
That good need lean thing don't go your way
so this what happens, when constant Karening is applied to a computer.
this lady is insufferable
i used waymo a couple of times recently and it was a breeze ….i would use it again
BS😡😤
Does anyone is considering the possibility that, maybe, the journalist didn't set up the address correctly? You can see how she struggles with the app. How can we know she did it right the first time? I'm not defending Waymo, but I always like to know about both sides of the story to take a decision.
Would you trust Tesla taxi that gets rid of lidar and radar and only uses optical?
We will now drive into the ocean, please keep your seatbelt fastened.
EPIC FAILURE!!! 👎👎👎
it doesnot have fking intelligency
Takes one accident, not even a major one for this to be scrapped for a decade or two, and then when it or if it picks up again it'll be another decade for people to trust
So you dont care that a human loses his job?? We really are happy to replace a human who has a family to feed for a robot to do the exact same job????
ABSOLUTELY AN IDIOT IDEA
You’re in a Johnnie Cab.
I wonder which politician or how many got paid millions to allow for this defective p.o.s to be on the streets.
R U SIRI U.S. ??
Just wait till you're in a rush and you try telling it to speed up, this thing might end up reporting you to police.
Imagine road raging at a car only to find out its driverless. lol.
Or whatif it was night time what a nightmare
That’s a jaguar for you stick to American
Why do Americans say MAKE a right.. and MAKE a left? You aren't making anything, you are turning. Go right, turn right…. Fine, but MAKE a right?
The doors will remained locked, that’s scary. I would not trust getting in one of those.
Randall museum, not “random museum”. God…
I just forsee the software being hacked.
They are unable to get to real autonomous driving. This whole thing is a big scam. Eventually it will cause a disastrous accident that will send shares plummeting.
Haaaaaaa! Now treat your next rideshare driver like a human being with respect.
I think we still have a ways to go. I actually thought the vehicle would have gotten you to ur destination without a hick up.
Okay while there are plenty of problems still, I don’t think the criticism of the incorrect drop off location is very fair, it’s like Uber, fine tune the location exactly where you want dropped off. Yeah it’s easier still to drive yourself, but we will be progressing and one day it will be way better and you won’t have to drive at all. Almost like people have been doing in NY and around the world with trains for decades and decades…..
it is in our nature to destroy ourselves…..
Gosh i dislike the reporter so much.
That 5-min walk is for your health.
Is that a faguar logo on the steering wheel?
You wouldn’t catch me dead in one of these…..oh, wait a minute
This car just kidnapped you they locked the doors on your ass
We can get together and pass a law saying there has to be a driver ❤
I'm sure the main issue with this was the diffuculty in moving the pin point location to exactly where you want Waymo to try to park at. Not all maps are accurate and Waymo probably defaulted to a 5 minute walk up to the museium as a safe dropoff location, but probably would of drove into the parking lot, if the pin was moved from the 'address' to the 'exact position'. Someone like me would of looked through the whole map, zoomed into the destination pin, noticed it's on the street, noticed I can manually move the dropoff point. But not everyone is going to notice that, they just want to put in an address and be in that parking lot.
Why is everyone so overconfident about AI if this is what it does in its current state?
